Program Overview

The Applied Data Analytics Certificate, ADAC from BCIT Computing  is aimed at students with strong mathematics backgrounds. It provides the technical foundations to build and manage data analytics systems.

Students learn best practices to model and mine data, how to use IT tools for Business Intelligence (BI), and Visual Analytics to create data systems with dashboards that help in quicker decision making.

The focus of ADAC is to build and use data analytics systems based on structured data using statistical data analysis. Starting with relational database and Structured Query Language SQL, students then are introduced to Excel, Python, and statistics to develop the foundations for data analytics systems.

Business Analysis and Systems Design, IT Security, Data Quality Improvement are required courses. There is a focus on Visual Analytics with the most popular tools Tableau and MS PowerBI.

Electives include: UX/UI, Database Development, Business Intelligence tools for performance management, and health sector based decision-making courses.

ADAC graduates will be able to create, manage and use data analytics systems to help organizations make informed decisions.

Upon program completion, students will be able to develop secure, statistical based BI, visual analytics and database reporting solutions for Data Analytics.
