Program Overview

In design and management, sustainability means considering ecological, social, and economic aspects along the value chain. Do you want to take an active role in developing sustainability in fashion and management strategies in the creative industries? The study program Sustainability in Fashion and Creative Industries (M.A.) offers the unique opportunity to become a driving force towards more sustainability within your industries.

Whether you work in design, management, or as an entrepreneur, if you want to learn how to operate in an economically effective, yet responsible way, this study program is the right choice for you.

Study content
Challenging seminars on business ethics, ecosystem research, material innovation, business psychology, and digital marketing are an integral part of the curriculum. Sustainability in Fashion and Creative Industries (M.A.) is an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented Master’s program, and focuses on three main areas:

  • sustainable design strategies
  • sustainable production
  • sustainable business

Within those areas, you will have the chance to tailor the study program to your interests, as you have the opportunity to choose different compulsory elective modules – all with a focus on sustainability.

During your final semester, you will work mostly on your Master’s thesis.

Complusory Elective Modules
During your first semester, you can choose one of three elective courses:

  • Merchandising
  • Fashion Product
  • Fashion Brand

Each module consists of a theoretical as well as practical part. No matter which course you choose, you will be working on a practical project – often tied to one of AMD’s many noteworthy cooperation partners. Furthermore, you will gain important theoretical knowledge about your chosen course, such as digital marketing or product development. During your second semester, you will be able to deepen your understanding of your elective module and continue working on your project.
