Program Overview

You have a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutics, biochemistry, biology, or related bachelor programs? You are thinking to expand your knowledge and get ready to take on specialists and management positions in the pharmaceutical industry? Our Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology master will be just the right fit for you!

Over the course of four semesters, you will gain in-depth knowledge and valuable skills for the biopharmaceutical industry. This pharmaceutical study program covers the entire value chain: from molecular structures and properties to fundamental principles of good manufacturing practice (GMP) and regulatory affairs in the tightly controlled environment of the pharmaceutical industry.

Graduates of the study program Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (M.Sc.) will have gained a sound knowledge and hands-on competencies required by the biopharmaceutical industry in key-areas such as (bio)molecular sciences, bioprocess engineering and industrial processes.

Study content
As a graduate of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (M.Sc.) program, you will have advanced your practical skills through a variety of laboratory classes and workshops and will have learned to work independently on scientific projects similar to those experienced in an industrial context.

  • solid knowledge in upstream processing, bioseparation techniques as well as downstream processing for the production of medical and biopharmaceutical products

You can design, visualize and simulate pharmaceutical processes and apply modern management methods to specific problems in the medical and biopharmaceutical industry.

Furthermore you are able to apply their knowledge in regulatory affairs to the biopharmaceutical value chain. You are also trained in biotechnological and bioanalytical methods for the analysis of (bio)pharmaceuticals and relevant excipients.
