You will learn the science of psychology and evidence-based practice, gaining expertise in research methodology, statistics and critical thinking. We will show you how to apply psychological science in service of individuals, families, groups and communities. Are you interested in doctoral training? Our research opportunities can increase your competitive edge. This option prepares you for a career as a licensed mental health counselor. Coursework combines with a practicum/internship field placement in a mental health setting. You'll complete 1000 hours of clinical and practical experience over the course of three semesters. Upon graduation you will be in a position to qualify to register with the state licensing board as an intern and to obtain the two-year post-degree supervised experience required for state licensure. This program is accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
