Master of Science in Sustainable Supply Chain Management

Program Overview

Sustainable supply chains and business processes are becoming increasingly complex and diverse. Constant restructuring and environmental pollution force companies to regularly review their supply chains.

The topic of sustainability is on the rise and leads to a constant need for a new generation of supply chain managers trained in sustainability issues who can deal with multi-level supply chains, reverse logistics, modern business processes, complex IT structures and multicultural stakeholders.

In our new master's degree program you will learn how to plan, control and analyze strategies, processes and the performance of the supply chain. You know how to identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and find appropriate solutions to improve overall performance. Modules on industry and SCM 4.0 help you understand the digitalization of supply chains and expand your expertise on relevant topics such as IoT, cyber-physical systems, automation and big data.

You will expand your knowledge of various supply chain management and enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP and train your analytical skills to model and analyze business processes, workflows and material flows. In the Process Management and Operations Research modules, you will learn more about process mining, the optimization and harmonization of business and IT processes, as well as various process standards and supply chain methods. 

Due to the sustainable orientation of the degree program, the M.Sc. Sustainable supply chain management on upstream and downstream activities along the supply chain. In this way, you will learn to implement sustainability in supply chains and to evaluate and measure the degree of sustainability and the entire life cycle costs in supply chains.

You know that supply chain sustainability starts with green and sustainable product development and uses reverse logistics to avoid waste and excessive resource consumption. You understand the concepts of circular economy and sustainability management and know that sustainable value chains should include environmental aspects, human rights, governance and other CSR topics.

Thanks to the project- and skill-oriented structure of the program, you can also train your intercultural, analytical, team-oriented and leadership skills in various practical projects with fellow students from all over the world.
