Program Overview

International Year One (UTP Stage II)

TMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science’s undergraduate programs prepare students to make meaningful contributions to advancements in technology, health, environmental sustainability, design and more. All engineering programs are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.

Leading to: Bachelor of Engineering - Electrical Engineering

At the centre of all technological advances is electrical engineering. As a student of this discipline, you’ll learn to apply the fundamentals of physical sciences and mathematics to practical applications of electric circuits, power electronics, control systems, data structures, digital communications and medical technologies.

While completing your Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree, you will develop algorithms, as well as design, simulate and build prototypes. In third year, you’ll gain specialized knowledge in advanced subjects such as communication systems, electromagnetics, microcomputer systems, electrical devices and systems, and control theory. At this stage, you can gain valuable, paid work experience in an optional co-operative internship program. In your fourth and final year, you’ll further specialize in your field of interest and collaborate with peers on a large-scale design project, leaving you well-equipped to launch your career and lead the charge in the next generation of technology.

The electrical engineering BEng degree program is fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB).
