Careers

• Graduates from our English and Creative Writing programmes have gone on to have success in a very wide range of careers including in publishing, the civil service, management, marketing, journalism, creative writing, administration and teaching. Employers value our graduates’ ability to express themselves well and think critically.
• Many of our graduates gain employment in areas associated with education, such as law, psychology, civil service and journalism. A joint Honours degree in education and another subject enables graduates to apply for the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education, in either primary or secondary education.
• Scotland which involve other universities and organisations.

Work Placement
As part of the first year in the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, all students choosing to study education must undertake a placement. This placement involves working with children between the ages of 0-14 for 70 hours across the course of the year and can be in a range of options other than a mainstream primary school setting.

Faculty of Engineering

• New scholarship value – Typically £6,240 (15% reduction, depending on tuition fee rate)

There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK. 
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea. 
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business. 
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK. 
Tier 5 GAE is for individuals who want to come to the UK for work experience, training, research or a fellowship.
