Master of Planning

Program Overview

The Master of Planning program is recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), and the students are trained with a variety of methodologies and tools to address local and regional challenges of development and planning, including policy analysis, GIS, population and demographic analysis, community engagement and urban design, while gaining valuable work experience through a summer coop work-term (500 hours of employment). Graduates are eligible to apply for professional certification and membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and any regional and provincial associations of planners within Canada such as the Atlantic Planners Institute (API) and the Licensed Professional Planners Association of Nova Scotia (LPPANS).
