This course integrates biology and psychology to develop your capabilities in understanding the interrelationships between psychological and physiological processes in human health and well-being. There are career opportunities in government agencies, health systems or social services.

This course is jointly delivered by our Psychology and Life Sciences academics. Through the Life Sciences Liaison Board, we have strong links to external stakeholders in industry and practice sectors.

At Bedfordshire we are proactively working to create opportunities for placements and external visits so you get the best opportunities to engage with industry.

A number of recent graduates are currently employed in diverse sectors including healthcare, pharmaceutical, research, science and education, whilst others have received funding to pursue PhDs in medicine.

We are continuing to invest in our laboratory environments and on top of £830,000 development we have invested £40million pounds into our new STEM building.

Why choose this course?
This interdisciplinary course is based in the life sciences at the interface with psychology. The course is jointly delivered by the School of Life Sciences and School of Psychology. It will give students the benefits of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects-based education and training that are known to enhance employability and earnings for graduates.

This course integrates human bioscience, with an emphasis on neurobiology and health with aspects of psychology to develop student capabilities in understanding the links between body and mind and overall individual health.

The curriculum will enable you to explore current and emerging challenges, technologies, practices and strategies for maintaining and enhancing human health and well-being.

You will develop a range of skills in techniques from cellular and tissue analysis using microscopy through to biochemical, biophysical and genetic analysis that integrate with your developing knowledge.

This will create career opportunities in government agencies, industry, practice, R & D and other organisations within the broad arena supporting human mental and physical well-being.
