Careers with this Subjects
For students who wish to work in the NHS as a professional Biomedical Scientist, there is the opportunity to transfer to BSc (Hons) Applied Biomedical Science at the end of the second year and undertake a yearlong placement in an accredited NHS laboratory. Transfer is competitive and not guaranteed with applicants undergoing a behaviours-based interview, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and occupational health (OH) assessment. Successful completion of the placement enables BSc (Hons) Applied Biomedical Science graduates to apply to the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) for registration as a Biomedical Scientist and work within the NHS.
