Program Overview

Do you love the delicious creativity and chemistry involved in baking and pastry?  Humber’s Baking and Pastry Arts Management program is an international innovator in pastry education.  Our 2-year Baking and Pastry Arts Management diploma program will give you the skills and training needed to master classic pastries, artisan and specialty breads, chocolate confections and showpieces, complex celebration cakes, sugar artwork, stunning plated desserts, and more! 

Throughout the program, you will become proficient in all aspects of baking and pastry arts management, as well as develop entrepreneurial and business skills.  You will learn to develop dessert menus and marketing materials, as well as obtain a nationally recognized food safety and sanitation certification.

You will receive a complete chef’s uniform for all practical lab classes, as well as a complete pastry kit with high-quality tools.

You’ll also take writing proficiency and general arts and science classes, as well as courses that provide the communication and critical thinking skills necessary for successful career development long-term. Then you’ll have an opportunity to apply these skills for a work-integrated learning experience or study abroad option, building your résumé and establishing valuable industry contacts.

Graduates of the program can go on to complete the Culinary Management program in one year to get acquire two diplomas in three years.

Note: For students starting in September or January, there is a scheduled one semester break between second and third semester.
