The Bachelor of Science degree in Finance prepares students for the rewarding, exciting, and ever-changing field of finance. Building on foundational knowledge in accounting, data analysis, economics, and math, students can develop skills in the field leading them in the directions that best fit their career aspirations.
Internships in their junior and senior years will permit students not only to gain experience and observe real-world industry practices, but also to showcase their growing talents and connect them with potential employers. A capstone project in their senior year will tie together all that has been learned, enabling them to hit the ground running when they graduate and pursue their careers.
Because of the diverse and flexible nature of the curriculum, Finance majors can pursue careers in commercial and investment banking, financial analysis, real estate, insurance, portfolio management, securities trading, central banking, public finance, and financial regulation, as well as within the corporate finance function of a firm.
Underlying the focused, outcomes-driven curriculum is SFC’s robust General Education Program, which is the cornerstone of SFC and affirms its mission to graduate educated, well-rounded individuals who enter the workforce and work to change and culturally diversify the world.
