Program Overview

You get to undertake a major research project, working closely with leading scientific researchers who will guide and mentor you throughout your studies. In your final year, you'll complete an honours project in your chosen specialisation, giving you the chance to refine your skills and showcase your research capabilities under the supervision of a leading science researcher. Highlights of studying Advanced Science (Honours):

• Start your research journey early by engaging in advanced studies courses throughout your second and third years, where you¿ll build practical lab skills and deepen your scientific knowledge.

• Select both a major specialisation, as well as an honours specialisation to hone your skills in areas of interest.  
• In your final year, undertake an honours project where you will apply your research skills to a significant scientific question or problem to advance knowledge in your chosen field. This project serves as a platform to showcase your abilities and prepare you for a career as a researcher.
• This program offers a seamless transition into PhD-level research, providing you with the foundation to pursue advanced academic study and become a leader in your field.

Major: Data Science

Griffith is leading the way in south east Queensland as the first university to offer data science as an undergraduate degree. Through your data science studies you’ll gain the skills to analyse, manipulate, model and interpret large data sets to uncover patterns and generate valuable insights.
