In this degree, you will gain a comprehensive education in the principles and practice of information technology. Through your chosen major, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the underlying technology, administration and application of specific applications of information technology and systems.
You will learn about information technology planning and management, and about Internet-based services used in commerce, education, health, science, public administration, and many other disciplines. You will also learn how to apply information technology to model, support, and manage modern, flexible organisations.
As a graduate, you will have advanced skills in communication, problem solving, systems analysis, and project management as well as sound knowledge of community expectations for information technology practitioners.

This course introduces students to a number of key elements in software development processes including scripting languages, software project management and the design processes for data schemas and user interfaces. These processes are presented in the context of the relevant background theories of each area, and applied by students to a range of relevant tasks. Software project management processes provide systematic approaches to measuring and managing software development tasks. Similarly User interface design processes ensure effective, and usable interfaces. Likewise entity relationship modelling permits efficient and data storage that is accessible and manageable.

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
