Major: Transport Planning

This course explores the theory and practice of transport and land use planning. The course involves a lecture series and course readings, a set of interlinked workshops to design, administer and analyse a travel survey, and a literature review exercise that allows students to more deeply explore a significant issue in transport and land use planning. The course covers such topics as the theoretical underpinnings of transport planning, contemporary transport policy, the impacts of transport systems on the environment, transport modelling, planning for walking, cycling and public transport, disruptive technology and transport and transport and land use integration. Students must have completed 130 credit points or have the permission of the course convenor before enrolling in this course.
