Information and technology are at the center of our daily lives and transforming all aspects of business. With Suffolk’s new Business Analytics & Information Systems (BAIS) major, you’ll master a wide range of applications and software systems and learn how to bridge the gap between data science and foundational business decision-making skills.
Why Business Analytics & Information Systems?
The BAIS major is anything but a cookie-cutter curriculum. Suffolk takes a unique approach in this program by offering you flexibility in deciding your own educational and experiential journey. With the BAIS, you can tailor your course selection with the available concentrations. No matter which concentration you choose, you’ll gain knowledge on fundamental database management, programming, and basic data analytics in courses that cover both business and management skills as well as gaining hands-on knowledge of high-demand technologically focused topics.
Plus, as a STEM-designated program (CIP Code: 11.0401), international students are able to extend their OPT by two years after graduation from the BAIS program at Suffolk.
Cybersecurity Concentration
Analyze and evaluate data privacy risks and management challenges facing individuals and organizational data. You’ll also learn how to design and evaluate solutions to protect the data and various data privacy regulations and then build on that knowledge with experiential learning of security technologies such as biometrics, firewalls, intrusion detection systems and cryptography systems in hands-on lab exercises to connect theory to practice.
