The Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) sequence allows students to focus on the coordination of all the components of marketing communication (e.g., advertising, digital and social marketing, sales promotion) in order to send one consistent brand message. All aspects of communicating with an organizations' target market fall under the umbrella of IMC. This includes digital media, social media, print media, broadcast, events, trade shows, email, direct email, product placement and much more.
The opportunities in Integrated Marketing Communication are tremendous. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts 8% job growth for marketing managers from 2018 to 2028. The median salary for marketing managers was $132,620 in 2018, according to the BLS.
Why study Marketing - Integrated Marketing Communication?
There are hundreds of career options for students majoring in Marketing and completing the IMC Sequence. Careers in IMC span the gamut from agency work to corporate marketing, digital marketing, event marketing, sponsorships, sport marketing, non-for-profit marketing and much more. If you always thought that you wanted to "work in advertising," then IMC is for you. If you want to promote a product, service, or organization, then IMC is for you. Do you like analysis and research? IMC depends on it. Do you like organizing and taking care of details? All is crucial to IMC implementation. We encourage you to visit with one of the IMC Faculty to discuss your interests, questions, ideas, and dreams.
