Major: Geography
Geography is the study of Earth’s landscapes, people, places and environments. The significance of geography lies in its contribution to an understanding of the total environment and the interrelationships that are apparent over various spatial scales. Geography students study how natural environments function and change over time. This study area provides an integrated understanding of humans, environments and the dynamic relationships between them.

Geography in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) is particularly focused on physical geography, natural hazards, human impact and technologies to consider these including remote sensing and geographical information science. Geography courses include laboratory learning and fieldwork. We aim to equip graduates with skills to analyse and synthesise environmental, economic, social and political information to find solutions for our complex problems.

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
