If you have a passion for biology and problem-solving, a master’s in forensic biology can prepare you for a career in crime scene investigation and evidence analysis. With a strong emphasis on theories and state-of-the-art technology you will acquire the skills needed for forensic science and laboratory research.
Through coursework and labs in areas like toxicology, forensic chemistry and interpretation of DNA evidence, you will learn how to assist law enforcement with DNA identification and kinship analysis, as well as missing persons and mass-disaster casework.
You will receive instruction from a team of interdisciplinary and experienced faculty and researchers as well as other experts in the forensic science and criminal justice community.

Career Outcomes
The majority of our graduates are currently employed as full-time forensic scientists in accredited laboratories throughout the world. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment opportunities in the field of forensic science will grow 27 percent from 2014 to 2024.
A master's in forensic biology can help you launch a career in either public or private sectors as a: Forensic biologist, Detective, Toxicologist, Analytical chemist, Laboratory director, Police consultant.
The degree can also be used as a step in continuing education, as you can go on to pursue a doctorate in law or another related field.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
