Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management (Third-Year Entry)

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management program is an applied business degree that will help you gain knowledge and know-how that is in high demand but in short supply — and equip you to make an impact. The 30-month part-time and primarily online program is uniquely designed to help you accelerate results and learn while you work.

Entrepreneurial management is the active application of an entrepreneurial mindset and associated entrepreneurial principles and practices to create and deliver value — be it through an endeavour, project, or venture that innovates on what already exists or brings something entirely new to the market.

Be the one who identifies possibilities where others only see barriers. Who generates creative ideas and innovative solutions. Who gets buy-in from others. Who makes things happen. Who gets things done.

These kinds of entrepreneurial qualities will serve you well throughout your career — be it in business or beyond. Every sector of the economy needs people who bring an entrepreneurial mindset and approach to their work.

The BCom covers the breadth of business and entrepreneurial management with added focus and emphasis on entrepreneurial discovery and application. The first half of the program focuses on the theme of exploration/discovery — of self, the entrepreneurial mindset, the broader marketplace and business environment, business models and modelling, and entrepreneurial opportunities — culminating in identifying an idea for an entrepreneurial endeavor you could action. The second half of the program focuses on applying your learning to this idea, building out a potential business model and developing a plan to bring the idea to life. Think of it as individualized project-based learning.

Through relevant, applied, experiential learning, you’ll strengthen your ability to:

  • see gaps and pursue opportunities
  • craft solutions to pressing problems
  • jump into a project and deliver results
  • communicate with clarity and confidence
  • collaborate effectively with others
  • lead with empathy and insight

You'll develop your capacity to be an entrepreneurial thinker and doer — someone who envisions what is possible and makes it happen. This is the essence of entrepreneurial management and the focus of the BCom.
