The School of Justice Studies (which houses the Administration of Justice Program) strives to provide our students with the legal, ethical, and educational background necessary to pursue a career in a criminal justice-related field and to successfully transition into a 4- year academic program. The criminal justice system is a diversified occupational area with available employment opportunities on the federal, state and county levels: Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol, municipal police departments, county sheriff's departments, federal and state departments of correction, probation and parole.
The Associate in Science degree in Administration of Justice for Transfer will provide the foundational knowledge in Administration of Justice to students who want to earn a Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal Justice at any of the CSU campuses. This degree is in compliance with the Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act {Senate Bill 1440, codified in California Education Code sections 66746-66749} and guarantees admission to a California State University (CSU) campus for any community college student who completes an “associate degree for transfer,” a variation of the associate degrees traditionally offered at a California community college. Upon completion of the transfer associate degree, the student is eligible for transfer with junior standing into the California State University (CSU) system. Students will be given priority consideration when applying to a particular program that is similar to the student’s community college area of emphasis. Visit www.sb1440.org and https://adegreewithaguarantee.com/ for the latest information about these degrees.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
