The Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) degree prepares students for one of the fastest growing occupations in the healthcare field with a 14 percent projected growth from 2020 to 2030, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. , The diagnostic medical sonographer works with highly technical equipment to produce images of the human body which the provider uses to make a medical diagnosis. The Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree provides students with the academic knowledge and clinical skills and competencies to assume entry level positions in a variety of healthcare environments and sonography specialties to include, abdominal, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiac, vascular, and breast. Students will complete three semesters of supervised practice in selected clinical settings.

New scholarship grant of up to $5,000 USD for international students
We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news with you! Monroe University is proud to announce a new scholarship grant of up to $5,000 USD for international students, including Indian and other offshore applicants.
This merit-based scholarship will be awarded to students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 to 4.0 (out of 4.0) in their current or most recent academic qualifications. It’s our way of recognizing academic excellence and making quality education more accessible to deserving students from around the globe.
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
