Diploma of Information Technology
The Diploma of Information Technology at SIBT is designed to meet current and emerging needs in the IT sector. As a graduate of this diploma, you will possess knowledge and skills that will enable you to succeed in a wide range of IT practices, including information systems, programming and software design, computer networks, statistics, mathematics for computing, and data management. Additionally, you will develop transferable skills to adapt to fast-moving developments in areas such as cyber security, artificial intelligence and quantum computing cloud networks.

The Diploma of Information Technology will also enable you to transition to entry-level IT technology roles by increasing your digital skills.

Leading to: Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology
This program gives you the knowledge you need to become an in-demand computing professional. You will gain skills in a practice-based learning environment, be introduced to real-world project experience, and acquire a solid knowledge of ICT theory.

Major: Software Development
This involves applying the theories and practices of software development to determine requirements, design and deliver solutions. In this software development lifecycle process, students use a range of technologies, and programming skills used for the development of software systems and distributed applications. In addition, students develop the ability to identify, analyse, and formulate solutions to real-world problems in the software development domain. In devising these solutions students also consider principles associated with user interface design, professional and ethical issues, in particular those relating to security and privacy of user data and user behaviour related to software development and associated applications.
