Scholarships

Federation Excellence Scholarship 2025

International students in the top 25% of offer holders in their region will receive a 20% tuition fee scholarship. To maintain the scholarship, a GPA of at least 5 must be maintained while studying. All students are automatically assessed for a scholarship, and if it is awarded will be included in their offer.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be:

• An international student (not a study abroad, exchange or online student)
• Enrolling as a commencing student in 2024
• Eligible to study in Australia with a valid visa
• Meet the additional terms and conditions as set out below.

Terms and conditions:

1. Applicants must be enrolled in a Federation University Australia, undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
2. The scholarship will be calculated on the full tuition fee for each unit and will be calculated based on the number of units enrolled in, during each semester.
3. To continue receiving the scholarship into the second and future semesters, awardees must not fail any units and must maintain a GPA of at least 5 at the study location specified in their offer letter. (Federation GPA Information).
4. If an awardee is approved compassionate or compelling leave from studies for a semester, the scholarship will be reinstated on their return to study.
5. The scholarship is non-refundable and may not be transferred to a cash amount.
6. If an awardee withdraws from the course, they will forfeit the scholarship.
7. The scholarship cannot be deferred for commencement in a future calendar year

Receipting of scholarship

This scholarship is awarded in instalments with the first instalment awarded to successful recipients at the time of offer. Ongoing scholarship instalments will be allocated to awardee’s student fee account prior to the following census date and on confirmation of meeting ongoing GPA requirements.

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
