Diploma of Engineering
The Diploma of Engineering provides foundation knowledge in mathematics, an understanding of engineering practices, and specialised topics in civil, electrical, mechanical and mechatronic engineering, enabling students to pursue engineering degrees at the University of South Australia.

Electrical engineers are needed wherever electrically powered tools, devices or systems need to be designed, manufactured or maintained. These systems include those that:
- Generate, transmit or distribute electrical energy
- Acquire, process or deliver information, and
- Automate processes and deliver services.
Professionally accredited by Engineers Australia, this degree is strongly hands-on, with significant opportunities to apply engineering theory to real-world challenges. In your final year, you’ll complete a major honours research project as well as an industry-focused design project.
You will develop skills in power systems, renewable energy, electronics, embedded systems, telecommunications, signal processing, robotics, automation and control, project management and systems engineering.
