Students who have already completed Year 12 (or equivalent) may start with the Stage 2 Diploma, which has the same course content and structure as year one of the corresponding Curtin University undergraduate degree. Upon completion of your Diploma, you will progress directly into the second year of your Curtin University Bachelor's degree program.
Stage2 - Computer Science & IT - Diploma of Information Technology
The Diploma of Information Technology addresses a significant market demand for skills associated with the design of distributed computing environments and the networks that underpin them.
Learn about computer technology, hardware and software, as well as computer communications and network management. Study the fundamentals of programming and theoretical knowledge of computing.
Leading to: Bachelor of Computing
This course will equip you with high-level knowledge of computer systems and processes involved in software development and maintenance.
It covers aspects of modern computing, commencing with fundamental programming and theoretical knowledge; and followed by specialisation in computer science, cyber security or software engineering.
You'll use C and Java as the tools for learning core concepts such as object orientation and algorithms. Linux skills are taught throughout the course, starting with the basics and progressing to advanced topics.
This degree is designed to prepare you for careers in computing. As such, Curtin works closely with industry partners both to optimise course content and provide final-year placement opportunities to suitable students.

This major provides in-depth knowledge of software design, algorithm analysis, artificial intelligence, computer communications, databases and graphics.
You will gain the skills required to build operating systems and design new programming languages. Being mathematically based, computer science has a strong emphasis on logic and reasoning.

High Achiever Scholarship
Covers 15% of any study period when achieved a 70% CWA.
This scholarship is only for international students. It will not extend to your first year at Curtin University.

CU will give 20% for the entire duratin of the course if achieved 70% CWA. (Undergraduate or Master by coursework).
Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
