Master of Forest Engineering

Program Overview

The 1-year Master of Forest Engineering (MFE) graduate program in the Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Management at UNB will expand on the knowledge and skills you acquired in previous university courses to give you an edge in building a meaningful career. Typically, MFE students are largely self-funded, with some research assistance funding provided through the Faculty. You have the option of studying full time or part time.

Throughout the program, you will study forest engineering at an advanced level through approved course work and by completing and presenting a major research project on a topic you and your supervisors choose. Students have the opportunity to study in a number of areas that are important to the forestry industry including forest operations and management, bioenergy, and value added & engineered wood product manufacturing.

If you would like to be considered for UNB scholarships, you must submit an entrance scholarship application by March 1. Late applications will be accepted. If funding permits, these applications will be reviewed.

FOR MASTERS PROGARMS

A number of Merit Awards up to $10,000 each are given to outstanding full-time candidates with a high standing. A separate application for these awards is not required.
To be considered for an award, you must provide your completed MBA application by May 15.

Awards are assessed according to your Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score, years of work experience and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):

GMAT 660 and five years or more of full-time relevant post-graduate work experience: $10,000
3.7 CGPA/GMAT 600 and five years or more of full-time relevant post-graduate work experience: $4,000

GMAT scores must not have any section under the 50% percentile to qualify for scholarships. All scholarships are awarded on undergraduate results only.
