Major: Human Resource Management

Human resource management (HRM) is a critical component of business, recognising people as an organisation's most valuable resource. This program goes beyond the traditional approach of finding and employing staff, extending into the realm of nurturing, and retaining talent to optimise performance.

Specific focus is placed on the acquisition and development of employees, positively influencing their employment performance, and monitoring and managing the processes of staff selection, retention and turnover.

HRM examines specific people management practices such as recruitment and selection, remuneration and performance management, employee relations, management of change, learning and development and workplace health and safety management.

The final-year capstone subject allows you to apply everything you have learned in collaboration with students from other disciplines.
