Program Overview

The Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Sciences will equip you with practical skills in the various disciplines relevant to exercise and sport sciences such as anatomy and physiology, nutrition, exercise physiology, biomechanics, exercise and sport psychology, motor control and learning, and exercise prescription and delivery.

You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the processes and mechanisms of the human body as they relate to exercise and sport science and have the flexibility to pursue an area of interest, with your choice of Minor. Your studies will include a mix of theory and hands-on laboratory experiences so you can apply what you have learnt directly into practice.

During these placements, you will apply skills learned throughout the course and gain practical experience conducting exercise assessment, prescription, and delivery for a range of populations.

International Merit Scholarship

The International Merit Scholarship is available to all new international students who plan to enroll in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework, research, or packaged academic courses at any campus or online.
Valued at up to 25% of your course fees, this scholarship recognizes strong academic performance and supports students committed to achieving excellence in their studies.
If you choose to study at a regional campus such as Rockhampton or Cairns, the scholarship will cover 25% of your course fees.

Eligibility Criteria	To receive the International Merit Scholarship, you must be a new international student applying for an undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, research, or packaged academic course at CQU. You may study on-campus or online. Please refer to the International Merit Scholarship eligibility criteria and other terms and conditions.
How to Apply	No separate application is required. You can check your application status and outcome in the iStart portal. If you applied through an education agent, they will keep you updated. You’ll be notified via email once your application has been assessed.
Supporting documentation	You must provide certified copies of your completion certificates and academic transcripts. If your documents are not in English, you must also include certified English translations. This helps us accurately assess your application.

Work Permit

PGWP

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
