Actors, designers, directors and technicians collaborate to inform and entertain us. As a theatre major, you can design and build stage sets, create costumes, and give television and stage characters personality. You can combine the words and ideas of the playwright, the movement and voices of the actors, and the scenic support of the designers and technicians to educate and entertain as a theatre major at Marquette.
About 20 percent of our theatre major graduates pursue master of fine arts degrees in acting, directing and design. Of those who seek employment, almost all get the job of their choice.

Marquette offers a wide variety of merit scholarships that support the university's mission while recognizing student achievement — excellence in and out of the classroom, commitment to community service and demonstrated leadership.
University offers : $24,000 to $32,000 USD for which no additional application is required. Students will be automatically considered for awards based on their application for admission.
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
