The athletic training program is an integral part of the Program in Exercise Science and the College of Health Sciences whose mission is to educate excellent, ethical health care providers. This mission, coupled with a dedication to recruiting and retaining students from diverse backgrounds, serves as the template for excellence in education and diversity. The mission of the athletic training program is to enhance the quality of health care for the physically active through prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The Master of Athletic Training supports the mission and educational philosophy of Marquette University and strives to develop men and women who have a allegiance to lifelong learning, and who will dedicate their lives to the service of others.

Marquette offers a wide variety of merit scholarships that support the university's mission while recognizing student achievement — excellence in and out of the classroom, commitment to community service and demonstrated leadership.
University offers : $24,000 to $32,000 USD for which no additional application is required. Students will be automatically considered for awards based on their application for admission.
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
