Bachelor of Science in Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies

Program Overview

The BS in gender, women and sexuality studies is an interdisciplinary academic program that examines the cultural and social construction of gender; explores the history, experiences and contributions of women to society; and studies the influences of gender at a micro and macro level.

Consistent with the university's design imperatives of social embeddedness and use-inspired research, the program's course offerings, research initiatives and cocurricular programs further the understanding of women and gender and promote social justice. Students gain a solid knowledge base and educational foundation as well as the critical thinking skills necessary for dealing with changing gender roles in society.
