Graduate Certificate in Project Management plus Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (Bundle Program)(Co-op)

Program Overview

Project Management:

This program prepares you to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control a project to ensure its success. That's true whether your area of interest is the arts, community or social services, business or government administration. If you're a seasoned professional, this program provides the opportunity to learn new skills to advance your career faster.

Things you'll learn to do

  • Identify clear project objectives and detailed project requirements.
  • Develop and monitor performance measures.
  • Create valuable project management plans.
  • Manage communication with all team members and project stakeholders.
  • Arrange and control finances.
  • Manage project constraints including scope, quality, cost and time.

Additional information
The program gives you a comprehensive foundation in project management and organizational management that applies to not-for-profit, for-profit and government organizations of all sizes. The activities, cases and projects are focused on small–medium sized projects, and are uniquely non-technical in their objectives and learning outcomes.

Under the direction of professors who are both outstanding educators and well-experienced in the project management field, you'll learn through:

  • Interactive classroom activities and numerous case studies.
  • Extensive assigned teams and collaborative activities.
  • Your initiative engaging the local community throughout the program.
  • The Capstone experience working with an actual charity, government, or business organization on a real project that is valuable to them.
  • Mobile computing – using your laptop you'll have 24/7 access to all course materials.

Cooperative Education
You have the option to work for one work term at the end of the program’s eight-month academic portion to gain further valuable real-world experience that is highly regarded by employers. This paid co-op/unpaid internship experience allows you to explore different career paths and apply classroom learning to additional actual business situations.

Professional Accounting:

This program gives you a clear pathway to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Once you’ve successfully completed this program, you can apply to CPA’s Professional Education Program (PEP) — the final step before you write your Common Final Exam (CFE). Even if you don’t have an accounting background, you’ll soon be on your way to becoming a CPA.

Co-op or fast track: the choice is yours

If you start in May or September, you’ll have the option to apply for our co-op program, which adds a four-month work term. This gives you the chance to gain valuable work experience and showcase your accounting skills to potential employers. You may also choose to fast track your studies by starting in January. In that case there’s no co-op term, so you can complete the program in three semesters.

Learn in a supportive classroom environment

CPA’s preparatory courses are rigorous and challenging to complete. By taking our Professional Accounting program, you’ll get the equivalent courses in a supportive classroom setting. You’ll also benefit from the best of the college experience — practical learning, one-on-one attention and small classes.
