The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a specialization in Sports and Recreation Management is designed for students to develop their general and specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities to become successful managers in a variety of settings. Esports has changed both nationally and internationally. Students will discuss the chronology of Esports development from grassroots PC tournaments to the franchising model, and the successes, failures, and unique challenges of the industry. The growth of technology, including hardware platforms and individual game titles, and its relationship to competitive gaming and Esports will be evaluated. Students have an opportunity to apply the knowledge they gained over the course of their core Management courses to Esports to provide a unique view of the industry. Graduates are provided with the strong foundation in general business management, complemented by specialization courses tailored to address the economic and operational issues in eSports. It is suitable for students seeking to enter the field, to advance in their careers, or to continue with graduate school. Students may pursue the degree entirely on campus, entirely online, or blended. The program is flexible in design and sensitive to the needs of busy individuals who have to balance the demands of their work, family, and education.
