Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become a leader in ministry. When you get a B.S. in Religious Studies, you’ll have the option of tailoring your degree with a concentration like Biblical Languages or Theology and Apologetics from the Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University.
The B.S. in Religious Studies major will provide an undergraduate degree program for students who have a particular interest in pursuing further academic studies in the various religious studies disciplines. Concentrations are offered in Biblical Languages, Global Studies, Jewish Studies, New Testament, Old Testament, and Theology and Apologetics.PurposeThe B.S. in Religious Studies seeks to provide students with a general knowledge of the Bible, church history, apologetics, and hermeneutical methodology, while allowing these students to focus on one of six concentrations: Biblical Languages; Jewish Studies; Old Testament; New Testament; Theology and Apologetics; and Global Studies. This purpose is accomplished with a view to preparing students for their chosen vocations and equipping them to engage the culture relevantly with the truth of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.Program Learning OutcomesThe student will be able to:Biblically justify essential truths of evangelical Christianity. Apply the principles of biblical interpretation. Examine religious perspectives, informed by various academic disciplines, from a conservative evangelical viewpoint. Understand how the Christian worldview compares and contrasts to other worldviews.Biblical Languages ConcentrationThe student will be able to analyse the syntax of biblical Greek and Hebrew.

Career Opportunities
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
