The Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) at HPU is a flexible degree program that prepares students for entry-level careers in health and wellness industries focusing on health promotion and disease prevention, program management, scientific research, and community health services. Core courses include personal and public health, human diseases and conditions, epidemiology, sexual and reproductive health, drugs and society, comparative healthcare systems, health behavior theory, research methods, health policy analysis, program planning and evaluation, and environmental and global health.
BSPH students culminate with two practicum courses involving over 120 hours of internship with direct supervision and mentorship from internationally-renowed faculty, professional practitioners, and researchers. Our BSPH graduates have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to easily secure competitive job opportunities in various workplaces including government agencies, community health organizations, school systems, research institutions, private healthcare facilities, and corporate settings--locally, nationally, and internationally. BSPH graduates are also strongly prepared for pursuing advanced degrees including the Master of Public Health (MPH), allied health professions, and masters-entry level nursing programs.
