Major: Event Management
The way we gather to celebrate, explore and communicate is changing. In today's global society, event management is about more than bookings and budgets. We're expanding into new physical and digital worlds, breaking down barriers and embracing inclusion and diversity. This major is designed to produce future leaders for the special events sector. It emphasises the application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for the effective management of events. In this major, you'll learn the skills you need to deliver successful events and be ready to find innovative solutions to any challenge. Plus, you'll have a foundation in business - so you'll be a flexible, multiskilled graduate. This multidisciplinary study provides you a solid grounding in business and specialist expertise in event management and marketing. In this major you'll develop a highly sought-after skillset that prepares you for the evolving events space – with specialised professional studies related to the management and delivery of special events such as volunteer management, arts and community festivals, meetings, conferences and tradeshows as well as the opportunity to plan, deliver and evaluate student led events. Industry/community participation through volunteering is actively encouraged.

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
