Program Overview

Develop solid foundations in modern business with La Trobe's Bachelor of Business.

In this flexible degree, you'll explore all our business disciplines in your first year before choosing from one of ten majors. You'll also have the option to pair your major with complementary study from another discipline through minors and optional second majors.

By completing La Trobe's Bachelor of Business, you will:

  • Gain real-world experience with industry leaders through internships and work placements

We're expanding into new physical and digital worlds, breaking down barriers and embracing inclusion and diversity. This major is designed to produce future leaders for the special events sector. It emphasises the application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for the effective management of events. In this major, you'll learn the skills you need to deliver successful events and be ready to find innovative solutions to any challenge. Plus, you'll have a foundation in business - so you'll be a flexible, multiskilled graduate. This multidisciplinary study provides you a solid grounding in business and specialist expertise in event management and marketing. In this major you'll develop a highly sought-after skillset that prepares you for the evolving events space – with specialised professional studies related to the management and delivery of special events such as volunteer management, arts and community festivals, meetings, conferences and tradeshows as well as the opportunity to plan, deliver and evaluate student led events. Industry/community participation through volunteering is actively encouraged.
