Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics (Honours)

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics (Honours) is a one-year program that offers high-achieving graduates the opportunity to explore an in-depth research topic in an area of their interest, and can also act as a bridge to higher degree research programs such as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

This Degree
Honours project topics are various and negotiable, and you’ll be encouraged and supported to pursue your interests. Whatever topic you choose, prospective employers will value your ability to achieve a complex goal, meet deadlines, investigate independently, use resources effectively and write coherently.

What you will study
The Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics (Honours) consists of 50% coursework and 50% research work. Working with one or more academic supervisors aligned with your research interests, you will develop a substantial research project and literature review alongside core coursework subjects that will supplement your research.

Studying Honours is about:

  • Learning research and navigation skills across a variety of information systems;
  • Articulating complex ideas verbally and in writing;
  • Working closely with a supervisor on a project with firm deadlines;
  • Devising, researching, and writing an individual topic of study, with an extended argument or thesis.
