The Bachelor of Engineering Science is offered as an entry program to a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). It is also offered as a three-year exit course for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).
The course structure, core subjects and electives are similar to the first three years of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) course.
Major: Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering major includes core subjects from all branches of electrical engineering. Electrical Engineering program is one of the flagships of Western’s engineering whose core subjects such as Electrical Fundamentals, Power Electronics, Engineering Electromagnetics form the foundation for other programs such as Software Engineering and Biomedical Engineering program. Because of the vibrant and diverse offerings of Western’s engineering, its graduates will work in the fields of electronic components, computers, electro-magnetics, power generation and distribution systems, power and control in public utilities, telecommunications, manufacturing, and electrical systems.

Undergraduate
Value The Sydney City Campus is offering $6,000 and $3,000 multi-year scholarships to new commencing international students enrolling in undergraduate degree programs for 2025*.
All successful applicants will receive a minimum scholarship valued at $3,000. The $6,000 value will be awarded dependent on your level of academic achievement in previous studies. |
Courses This applies to any undergraduate degree available to study at the Sydney City Campus. |
Selection If successful, your scholarship offer will be outlined in your offer of admission letter. Selection will be based on academic achievement in a completed Year 12 qualification or equivalent recognised by Western Sydney University for admission.

Acceptance process Scholarships will be granted on a first come first served basis until filled. If you are awarded a scholarship, accept your offer as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Your initial scholarship will be applied to your Western student account after census date of your first session/quarter. Your 2nd and 3rd instalments (if applicable) will be applied to your student account once you have completed the subsequent 80 and 160 credit points of your degree. You must maintain a minimum enrolment of 3 units in each session and a cumulative GPA of 4 or higher for the duration of the scholarship. |

Other costs The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver and does not cover costs associated with living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study. The recipient will be paid the scholarship value in their WSU student fee account and not the recipient’s bank account. |

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
