Program Overview
Photography and video constitute a hugely significant visual language which is always around us, in film, art, news, advertising, editorial, fashion or commerce. Constantly evolving through changing technologies - darkroom, digital, AI and beyond - these essential visual mediums have shaped how we perceive the world and ourselves.
Our course equips students to become critical, independent thinkers and creators, capable of navigating lens-based media with ease. It is taught by a team of dedicated, respected staff who exhibit, research and publish internationally. We are passionate about photography and video for their creative and storytelling capabilities as well as their central role in the creative industries. We encourage and support our students to explore and question the world around them and become experts in their fields. Our students develop the skills to produce diverse, impactful work, grounded in a deep understanding of meaning and communication.
Our graduates work in the film industry, galleries, magazines, digital content, art therapy and editorial fields among others. They have won high-profile prizes, shown their work around the world and built diverse careers out of their studies here. From gallery to magazine, from breaking news to film set, studying photography with video gives students access to a huge range of art and commercial opportunities.
