Associate in Gender and Womens Studies Pre-Major

Program Overview

Prepare for a major in Gender and Women's Studies by taking recommended courses to fulfill the requirements of a transfer degree.

Gender and Women's Studies focuses on the study of gender as a central aspect of human existence. Students learn about the system of sex/gender construction, how social categories of gender can structure patterns of power, and how the institutions of family, education, employment, politics and media shape individuals as gendered beings. An interdisciplinary field, Gender and Women's Studies incorporates disciplines such as sociology, economics, political science, anthropology, literature, psychology and more.

The Associate in Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) is part of Shoreline’s General Transfer program and is designed to meet the first two years of requirements of most four-year degrees.
