The Master of Public Administration, Criminal Justice Administration concentration provides students with advanced theory and practical skills necessary to confront and help resolve the complex problems associated with the American criminal justice system. This concentration offers both general and specialized courses by WSU full-time and adjunct faculty in the Criminal Justice department. Students will gain expertise in the design and evaluation of criminal justice.
This program provides a quality graduate degree that is affordable, responsive to local workforce needs and is accessible to working part-time commuting students.

Scholarships Offered by Westfield State
Merit-based scholarships are for first-year and transfer students in the full-time Day Division who meet requirements not related to financial need and are awarded for superior academic achievement. Merit scholarships are based on the application for Admission. There are no separate scholarship applications. Merit-based scholarships are also available to out-of-state students.
Students are encouraged to apply for private scholarships as well.
The Westfield State Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce over $300,000 is available in Foundation Scholarship Aid for the upcoming 2021-2022 academic year. Returning students are eligible to apply for additional Westfield scholarships. There are a few scholarships open to incoming freshmen.
Please note that scholarships are limited. Students are encouraged to apply early in order to be considered for a Merit Scholarship.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
