Program Overview

Suffolk is one of the country’s most popular holiday destinations – tourism here is worth £2 billion. The county’s renowned Heritage Coast, seaside villages, Constable Country and quaint market towns attract visitors from all over the world.

Ipswich offers a vibrant social scene; its variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes provide the perfect setting to build friendships for life. With plans for development across the town, you will be studying in a historic town with an exciting future.

Ipswich is the home of the largest, free music festival in the UK.  One the course event students work collaboratively with businesses in the industry through internships, paid and volunteering roles in the project management and delivery of a wide-range of events. Many opportunities are for very prestigious, large County events such as the Suffolk Show, Art EAT Festival as well as other cultural,  music festivals and business events in the area.

We use authentic learning and assessments using scenarios from local business to the national and international business setting. The balanced approach of problem-based, real-life situations helps contextual the academic theory very effectively.  This approach is seen as a strong point of differentiation compared to other event and tourism degree programmes on offer.
