You will be immersed in the worlds of accounting, finance and management from the start. You will engage in taught sessions, work placements, field trips, and hear guest speakers throughout your degree. With work assessed using a variety of methods, you build a diversity of skills and become a ‘career-ready’ graduate.
Our programme also sets the foundations for professional exams, helping you prepare for ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualifications if you choose to do them later in your career. Your employability is at the heart of everything we do. We help you with job searches, while advancing your development through our excellent business links.
All Accounting and Financial Management students are registered with CIMA as part of their degree. CIMA registration brings a wide range of benefits such as access to a wealth of CIMA learning and employability resources and events. The CIMA registration lasts throughout the course of the AFM degree, without any obligation to go on to the full CIMA professional qualification. CIMA also offers its own awards which can be studied alongside your degree.
Throughout our course, you will build and develop enterprise and entrepreneurship skills. You will have the opportunity to test your business ideas and enhance your personal and professional skills through SimVenture, a business simulation platform. You will start, manage, and scale business projects in teams and individually, gaining practical knowledge of strategic planning and decision making.
