Working in public, private, voluntary and community settings, career guidance practitioners assist a range of adults and young people to make decisions about their education, training, jobs and careers. In the current climate, career guidance is ever more vital, whether helping young people leaving the education system, or those seeking to change direction in their careers. The aim of the MA/PgDip in Career Development Management is for you to develop the practical skills, theoretical knowledge and professional values that would allow you to meet the needs of clients in a wide range of work settings. Upon successful completion of the course you will gain an understanding of how to deliver careers support to diverse individuals and groups and manage career development activities, as well as how to manage your own career development, whether as an employee or as a self-employed person, researcher or practitioner within a changing UK and international landscape.
