Northumbria’s MSc Economics and Sustainability is for both students with a background in economics who wish to specialise in sustainability, and students from a non-economics background who wish to pursue a career in environmental economics.

Northumbria’s MSc Economics and Sustainability will provide you with state-of-the-art training in economics and policies for sustainability and climate change, as well as a broad grounding in environmental and resource economics.

Well-trained economics graduates are in high demand in the environmental sector, and this unique programme is specifically designed to prepare students for specialist roles as environmental economists in government, international organisations, industry, NGOs and consultancy, as well as for academic careers in research.

Focussing on combining cutting edge sustainability strategies with contemporary economics you will engage with the theories of Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics and Environmental Economics.

As well as gaining a detailed understanding of economics and sustainability issues, you will learn how to apply theory to real world problems and acquire the intellectual and personal skills to develop as a professional economist, or pursue further study with academic research in economics.
