Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Science with Concentration in Conservation Biology (STEM)

Program Overview

Wildlife and fisheries science is the study of animal populations and the applied use of ecological principles to manage these populations. Although such programs historically focused on fish and wildlife species that are harvested, a more broad approach is now in place that includes the study and management of all fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals. On occasion, populations of invertebrates and even plants, especially endangered species, are included. A focus on conservation biology provides the scientific basis needed to manage wild animals, as well as applied techniques used in the conservation of natural resources.
