Program Overview

Digital Media informs the way we create, play, communicate and interact with technology. It is also essential to a wide range of industries and creative subjects, including web and app design, XR, entertainment technologies, social media, online marketing and data visualisation.

Based within Greater Manchester, you’ll be studying in one of the fastest-growing creative technology centres in the UK. This course benefits from our facilities at our MediaCity and Peel Park campuses. These include state-of-the-art digital production labs and 'Maker Spaces' equipped with a broad range of cutting-edge tools and technologies to turn your ideas into reality.

Taught by creative technology specialists and leading researchers within the field, you’ll have access to a wide range of industry-standard technologies, including VR headsets, green screen studios, motion capture suits, 3D printing technology, installations and digital production labs.

Supported in gaining the necessary skills to contribute to the creative technology industries, you’ll be ready to be part of new and exciting technological advances. As a Digital Media and XR student, you’ll be best placed to pioneer the implementation of new digital tools and production pipelines into various creative industries. Our students have gone on to work with recognized brands related to the world of global technology, such as the BBC and digital design studios, including Epigram, Persona and Stein.

Through this programme, you’ll gain creative, technical and entrepreneurial skills that will enable you to secure various job roles, whether in strategy, design or the development of digital experiences bringing creative digital solutions to real-world problems.

 You will:

  • Develop the technical skills needed to excel in a range of existing and emerging digital employment roles.
