UIndy's Master of Arts in Applied Sociology program provides students with the critical thinking and research skills needed in today's ever changing world. It emphasizes the practical application of social science research in solving contemporary social problems, and helps students develop skills that can be used in a variety of organizations. Our program also provides strong foundation work for PhD programs.
Applied research & evaluation
Students who complete the applied research & evaluation concentration often work in professions that require them to use data collection and analysis skills to solve complex social problems. Past graduates have worked as analysts, statistical programmers, and in small business support at locations such as the City of Baltimore, City of Indianapolis, SmallBox (marketing and website support), inVentive (clinical health research firm), and the Indiana Department of Corrections. Other students have pursued PhD level study at universities such as Temple University, the University of Tennessee and Purdue University.
