Our BA Archaeology and Anthropology with Study Year Abroad degree allows you to develop a broad range of subject-specific and transferable skills in the humanities and the sciences, preparing you for a diverse range of career opportunities.

Archaeology could lead to a career in commercial archaeology or the heritage sector – for example, in a museum or archive – or you could take advantage of development-led archaeology opportunities in planning departments and commercial companies. At Reading, we have long-established relationships with employers within the archaeology and related sectors, including Oxford Archaeology and Cotswold Archaeology, both of which regularly consider our graduates for vacancies.

Anthropology could be a path into international development (with governmental, inter-governmental and non-governmental organisations), agriculture, health, and social research, and social policy.

There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK. 
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea. 
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business. 
Tier 5 Youth Mobility is for individuals of certain countries like Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand aged between 18 -30 who wish to move to the UK.
